The construction industry encompasses many distinct roles, from skilled trades to project management functions. To identify opportunities for growth and advancement, the first step for many workers is to simply develop a clear picture of where they fit in the field today and what they want to strive for next Our people are at the heart of everything we do. From our employees to clients, subcontractors, partners, and our considerable network of contacts, building strong, resilient relationships is the key to our success. We want our employees to have the confidence to express and apply their unique innovations and expertise. We also believe in partnering collaboratively with our clients so together we can innovate beyond the boundaries traditionally associated with construction.

Sustainability
Sustainability is woven into everything we do.
Success to us means investing in our collective futures. From the materials we choose to our production methods and intelligent use of design and technology, we're aiming for net zero emissions by 2050 in everything we build We continue to maintain a strong focus on making tactical adjustments to cut our GHG output in the near term. These are examples of some of the initiatives we have put into place:
-
Optimizing the management of our fleet Vehicles and equipment, powered by diesel and other fossil fuels, are the most significant sources of our GHG emissions. To optimize their use, we are focussed on adding hybrid vehicles to our fleet.
-
Water used in hydro demolition is recycled
-
Moderating the fuel demands of heavy equipment
Type of Targets
CanMar has chosen to set intensity-based targets. An intensity-based target is relative to economic output, for instance, tonnes of CO2 per million dollars of revenue. We are in a dynamic business environment where the composition of our business fluctuates year-to-year and intensity-based targets will enable us to provide consistent, comparable, and meaningful reporting.
