Project Overview
Canmar led the first phase of a major exterior envelope restoration at a high-rise residential building in Toronto. With a focus on mitigating water penetration and improving the building’s insulation value, the project combined structural repairs with an EIFS, Exterior Insulation and Finish System, upgrade to deliver long term performance gains.
Our Work Included
01
Structural steel welding and exterior wall remediation
02
EIFS installation for improved thermal performance
03
Access solutions using elevated platforms
04
Phased work coordination to minimize disruption
Challenges and Outcomes
This multi-phase building envelope restoration was completed at a fully occupied residential high-rise. With tenant comfort and safety as priorities, Canmar worked closely with consultants and building management to coordinate access and maintain efficiency across trades.
Crews accelerated scaffold setup using elevated work platforms to maintain schedule momentum. Structural steel welding, EIFS installation, and exterior wall remediation progressed in parallel, with work performed from the building exterior to limit disruption to residents.
Upon completion, the restoration strengthened thermal performance, improved protection against water ingress, and extended the overall service life of the façade.
